First blog post

MY VERY VERY VERY FIRST BLOG. What’s with the capitals? An unnecessary shouty effect, not at all what I intend. Ah. That poses a question. What do I intend?

Firstly, a spur to writing. Secondly, an engagement with others, if they can ever find me. Thirdly, i would like it to be a sort of diary of my writing life which should tie in with my initial aim.

Who am I? A person who has spent more time writing than doing almost anything else for the last few years: to be accurate seven years. What have I to show for it? Two unpublished books which have been submitted in the usual way ( first three chapters and a synopsis) to a few agents. but without success or indeed encouragement, apart from  good luck wishes from the kinder ones.

It seems this will be a confessional too. Admitting procrastination, failures, constant frustrations of an IT nature and lack of confidence in selling myself as a writer will require scrupulous honesty.

WordPress have supplied the photo of a rough sea with sunrise or sunset. An optimist might choose the former, a pessimist the latter. I will sit on the fence and wonder how to get one of my own pictures on to the blog.
