Great excitement last week when ‘No Small Thing’ was published by 49Knights Independent Publishing House. The White Horse bookshop kindly put on a launch party for me and I invited many of my friends.

Dan Lentell and Izzy, plus two small children came to stay the night. My own offspring arrived by car and train and a warm and supportive crowd turned up to help me celebrate and kindly bought the book.

I signed many copies in an exhilarating couple of hours with only the nagging doubt of hubris looming over me. What if everyone hated it? I was fairly certain that no one would say so to my face but self-doubt makes for a finely tuned ear for discerning insincerity.

Over the last week, I have banished such thoughts and revelled in the thoughtful appreciation and accolades of readers. I am very moved by anyone expressing positive views about the book and am so grateful to those that go to the trouble of sending them to me.

Today I am ready to continue with book 3 working title ‘Passport’.
